Many people disagree to animal testing, but many cosmetic companies and research labs still use that method, so many people are petitioning for animal rights and anti-animal testing.
I've always been a little confused on how cosmetic companies test animals, like, do they put lipstick on a rat? I've come to find that it is much, much more than that. I found out that some cosmetic companies use test-cosmetics and use many different methods of animal testing: skin absorption, force-fed, force-inhalation, and more. I even found out for some eye cosmetics some companies literally use a dropper to put chemicals in the animals eyes to test eye-irritation levels. This is so disgusting. So many animals are suffering and dying, and for what you ask? For us to wear mascara.
I am so proud to learn that many countries are putting so much effort to stop animal testing. India, for instance, has banned cosmetic animal testing and importing any cosmetics that test on animals. I am not a scientist, but I am pretty sure that there is another way to test make up and shampoos than on a few rats.
Even though I disapprove of cosmetic animal testing I'm not completely sure if I'm against animal testing in general, such as for medical purposes and research. I think that if we can find a cure to cancer through experimenting on a rat that it is worth it.
In conclusion, I am against cosmetic animal testing, because it is for an unworthy cause. But animal testing for medicine and treatment is a worthy cause, so it isn't as terrible.
How do you feel about cosmetic animal testing?
