Many people disagree to animal testing, but many cosmetic companies and research labs still use that method, so many people are petitioning for animal rights and anti-animal testing.
I've always been a little confused on how cosmetic companies test animals, like, do they put lipstick on a rat? I've come to find that it is much, much more than that. I found out that some cosmetic companies use test-cosmetics and use many different methods of animal testing: skin absorption, force-fed, force-inhalation, and more. I even found out for some eye cosmetics some companies literally use a dropper to put chemicals in the animals eyes to test eye-irritation levels. This is so disgusting. So many animals are suffering and dying, and for what you ask? For us to wear mascara.
I am so proud to learn that many countries are putting so much effort to stop animal testing. India, for instance, has banned cosmetic animal testing and importing any cosmetics that test on animals. I am not a scientist, but I am pretty sure that there is another way to test make up and shampoos than on a few rats.
Even though I disapprove of cosmetic animal testing I'm not completely sure if I'm against animal testing in general, such as for medical purposes and research. I think that if we can find a cure to cancer through experimenting on a rat that it is worth it.
In conclusion, I am against cosmetic animal testing, because it is for an unworthy cause. But animal testing for medicine and treatment is a worthy cause, so it isn't as terrible.
How do you feel about cosmetic animal testing?

How To Get Away With Murder.
Many people want pro-choice laws, but abortion is illegal in many states, so there is an everlasting argument on what laws need to be made and what laws don't.
Before starting this topic my views were solid: Abortion is murder. I often found myself very angry at those who had abortions, and even those who supported it. I thought their argument was very unworthy; you had sex and didn't think to use protection and now you're stuck with a baby, so you're going to kill it? That's just cold-hearted, killing a baby.
In 7th grade I got into an argument with this girl who said abortion is okay because an unborn baby isn't a living thing. She said because it wasn't fully developed "it doesn't count", I didn't even know how to answer that without sounding ruder than she was being. I told her that even an unborn baby classifies as a living thing because it has all the Characteristic of Life that we learned in Science.
I found an articles with personal testimonies of women who've had abortions. I can't say that I feel much different, but after reading personal testimonies about girls who've had abortions I see things different. Out of the 30 women, half felt guilty for it, one-forth regretted it, and another forth didn't regret it. But it seemed like all felt like they had to do it. Many obviously couldn't even take care of themselves, let alone a baby. Many of these girls knew they couldn't support a baby, or that they needed to finish school, or some wanted to wait until stability came along. I actually pity these girls, they were young, scared, and often alone through this process. They felt like they had no other choice, some were even pressured into it.
I do feel a little differently on abortion now. I understand that these girls aren't in a position to raise a baby. But I still feel like either these girls shouldn't have had sex in the first place or at least use a condom. But it's too late for that, so what do you do? It does annoy me when i read about those super-religious people who stand outside abortion clinics with there holy water and Jesus posters, but I also am annoyed at those "It's my body, I can kill a baby if i wanna" people. (On a side note, I am absolutely against those people who have multiple abortions, didn't you learn the first time? This isn't a game.)
In conclusion, I think that under circumstances women should be allowed to have abortions. When I say circumstances I mean diseases, under a certain age, rape, financial, ect. I think that this would help a lot of people, a lot of girls are too ashamed to seek help and therefore go to an unlicensed "doctor", harming themselves both physically and emotionally. I think that if people would just take a moment and think about the consequences abortion wouldn't even be needed. Overall abortion leaves me with a sick feeling in the back of my throat. Realizing that over 3,500 babies die a day. Just google the images and it'll sicken you too. But sometimes it has to be done, I encourage you to copy the website in the citation and read some of the testimonies for yourself.

Banned for Beliefs?
The top coach of Cape Henlopen highschool wanted nothing but to pray for the safety of his players at a postgame, so he did, but he was persecuted for these actions and placed under scrutiny.
I've been raised in a time where you keep your religion under wraps at schools, students willingly and teachers forcibly. So it is no huge shock that things like this happen in our everyday life. But there always is a shock, always a part in me that is enraged. Why should this coach be ill-treated for praying? I mean, how can we say we live in the Land of the Free if we, the teachers, cannot legally pray in our schools? How is that freedom?
I do understand the other side though, the side that bans it from our public school systems. They support the argument that school is no place for religion, and by teachers standing up for their own religion it could potentially offend a student, or cause many arguments. That the main focus of school is for educational purposes, and not for such things like religion.
But this also has a catch. Schools are becoming more and more diverse, with race, beliefs, and even sexual orientation. So why are we so quick to hide religion? To ban prayer? To make it something taboo for students to do?
Another point to my argument is the first amendment itself, saying "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech..." It says that there shall be no law made against the exercise of religion, so why can't we? Prayer is a right that we have, should have, and will have.

Death With Dignity?
Brittany Maynard wanted nothing but life, but in January of 2014 she was diagnosed with glioblastoma, so she chose to move to Oregon to access Death with Dignity.
CNN.com interviewed the 29 year old about her condition, and realized she was very set on what was going to happen. Brittany talked about not even a year after she got married, in 2013, she was diagnosed in January and it came back more aggressively in April. Eventually there was a point where the doctors told her there was nothing else they could do, and gave her 6 months to live. It was here that Brittany started to do her research, on any other options. She stumbled upon Death with Dignity, which is a end of life option for terminally and mentally ill people that take prescription, self-ingest medication to end their life. She realized that this would be the best option for her, not wanting to suffer and make others watch. She says she does not plan to use it right away, but plans to November 1, two days after her husbands birthday.
I actually found this article trying to do my science journal, on ajc.com, last week and was completely shocked. I didn't even know what Death with Dignity was, or that people could do that. My first reaction was along the lines of 'that's so depressing for her to know when she's going to die, and for her to do it'. I wasn't thinking it was wrong or anything, just I thought it was really, really sad- and it is. But the more I read the more it made sense, she gets the option to painlessly end her life before the suffering begins.
I support Death with Dignity because it's helping people live out the rest of their life and then be able to end it whenever the pain becomes too unbearable. It's not fair for these people, who have already been through so much, to suffer and suffer until they die. It's not fair. Sure, people can choose to live it out, but they should also get to choose if they want it to end. It is always a choice.
I read though some of the comments on this article and some were supportive, but some were not. There were many people telling her how she's going to go to hell because she's committing suicide and throwing away the precious life that God gave her. I hate when stupid people say stuff like this. Brittany is a newly wed 29 year old with a lust for life, maybe if she didn't have terminal cancer she would live, but she does. Death with Dignity is not suicide, it is for people who will suffer until they die. A simpler way out is nicer than potentially becoming immobile or not being able to communicate. If you do not like it, then don't do it. Just don't choose other people's battles.
It baffles, yes, baffles, me that this option is only available in 5 states.

Illegal Immigration affecting our Nation
According to the authors of www.endoftheamericandream.com Illegal Immigration is disturbing, so he has taken it upon himself to spread the word about the reality of Illegal Immigration.
Endoftheamericandream.com listed 19 accurate facts about Illegal Immigration and the reality of them. It is true that most drugs are imported in from other countries, a main one being Mexico, and it is also true that Illegal Immigrants have added on to the gang numbers in America.
Many people support Illegal Immigration saying they help our economy, doing work that would otherwise be unaccomplished. It shouldn't even matter if they help or not, because you always have to turn around and realize that illegal immigrants are, well, illegal. It doesn't matter how you get the money, as long as you have it, right? Wrong. Any person with a decent amount of morals should come to that conclusion. Before you call me heartless or cruel, I should remind you that I'm not against immigration, just illegal immigration. It's not like America is closed off to people on the outside, there is a way to become a citizen. To become one of us. But either people are impatient, have an urgent situation, or just don't care come over illegally, skipping the people who are doing it right by the tests and paperwork. The tests are their to help us Americans, to prevent dangerous people from crossing the border.
For the most part, I agree with the point that the author of endoftheamericandream.com is trying to prove, but not entirely. He refers to the illegal immigrants as bad people, sure, what they are doing isn't right, but that doesn't mean they are bad person. Also, he categorizes to them as thieves, rapists, gang members, drug dealers, and the rather rude term "aliens". I believe that people should be aloud to join us in America, and in easier ways for people in urgent situations.
If you do the math and look at the statistics there are over 11.5 million illegal immigrants live in the US, 57%from Mexico. The issue of illegal immigrants is becoming to large for the government to handle it, so who's going to?
